Stuttgart
Stuttgart – capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the Swabian metropolis. It offers highlights for automobile fans and culture vultures, for technology freaks and architecture lovers. The world's very first Television Tower overlooks the city. This is where the automobile was invented, and where two great automobile producers – Mercedes-Benz and Porsche – present their fascinating museums. The award-winning State Theatres enthral audiences from far and wide with opera, ballet and theatre. Works by world-famous artists fill the outstanding museums. And architectural history was made here when "Neues Bauen" – the "New Building" movement – arrived in Stuttgart with the construction of the Weissenhof Estate by Le Corbusier and his circle of Bauhaus pioneers.
Stuttgart is a city of contrasts and surprises: Vibrant urban life next to vineyards stretching into the heart of town. Spectacular new buildings next to visionary architecture and baroque palaces. Award-winning cuisine next to quaint inns with regional Swabian specialities. Stuttgart – where tradition and modernity go hand in hand.
