Stuttgart has direct transport links to many German and European cities because it is easy to reach by road, air or rail. Another advantage is it’s excellent public transport which makes it possible to reach your destination in an eco-friendly way.
Arrival by plane
Take-off and landing: The quickest way to get to Stuttgart is by air. Stuttgart Airport is one of the most modern in Europe. 39 airlines fly to around 110 destinations in 32 countries and approximately 7 million passengers used it in 2022. The striking architecture of the terminals has won several awards, making it one of Europe’s most attractive airports. Short distances enable comfortable travel and a wide variety of shops and restaurants create a place worth exploring.
Lines S2 and S3 of the rapid transit railway (S-Bahn) and the line U6 (U-Bahn) provide a direct link from the airport to the main railway station in the heart of the city in only 27 minutes. Motorists can reach Stuttgart’s “Gateway to the World” via A8 Karlsruhe – Munich motorway.
