Electronic liquid crystals made of quasi-one-dimensional stripes have been proposed as a viable route to high-temperature superconductivity. Moiré semiconductors provide a platform to test this idea. In this talk, I will discuss the observation of electronic liquid crystals in these materials and the emergence of superconductivity achieved by suppressing stripe ordering via gate control.
