The thermal Hall effect — a transverse heat current induced by a longitudinal temperature gradient under a magnetic field — has emerged as a sensitive probe of low-energy quasiparticle excitations and topological properties in superconductors. Here we report the observation of a finite thermal Hall conductivity κ_xy in niobium below the superconducting transition temperature T_c. We also discuss possible origins of the observed signal.
